“Together with family and friends, we swam for my (step) mother in 2019. It was one of the last days we were all together with her. With much effort, she waved at us from every bridge from her mobility scooter. That image is etched in our memories. We promised her that we will keep fighting against ALS. This year, we will put our all into it again!”
“I have been participating from the first hour. Initially because I love swimming and that's why ACS fits me so well. But now mostly because of ALS. It is a terrible disease that patients cannot escape. During ACS everyone feels the same. The attention for each other. It's wonderful to see a patient cross the finish line. For me, the Amsterdam City Swim is the most spectacular event in the Netherlands!”
“I really like the fact that I can contribute to the fight against ALS as a volunteer. I do not personally know anyone who has ALS, but I am glad that I can do something for others. As a volunteer, I can ensure that everyone has a beautiful and memorable day. I also enjoy the day with all the other volunteers!
