I love to swim and am passionate about helping those in need. That is why I wanted to join the Amsterdam City Swim to support those with ALS. The ALS Amsterdam City Swim uses donations for research and to directly improve the lives of those living with the disease. This community-based effort is just one of the grassroots ways you can help others today! So please join me and give what you can.
The official swim is 2.1Km that goes from the area of the river Ij (near the navy yard) to the Amstel river. To prepare, I swim 6-8 km weekly in rivers and pools. Water is 800 times more dense than air, so it takes me about 1 hour to 1.15 mins to swim 2.1 km (depending on current, waves, and stroke used).
See you at Amsterdam City Swim 3 September - I jump in the water at 13.30. :)
