From Murky Waters to Bright Futures: Swim for ALS

Hey there, brave souls and generous hearts!

This year, I'm diving headfirst into the murky waters of Amsterdam's canals for the annual Amsterdam City Swim. Yes, you heard that right – I’ll be swimming 2 kilometers through the city's famous (and famously not-so-clean) waterways, all to raise money for ALS research. Why, you ask? Well, besides my love for a good challenge and a good cause, I also have a secret desire to become best friends with a canal-dwelling eel.

Now, before you start picturing me wrestling with canal monsters or emerging covered in mysterious sludge, let me reassure you that it's all in good (clean-ish) fun. But on a more serious note, ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a relentless neural disease that needs our attention and support. It affects countless lives, stripping people of their ability to move, speak, and ultimately, breathe. By sponsoring my swim, you're not just encouraging my slightly questionable life choices – you're contributing to vital research and support for those battling this devastating disease.

So, here’s the deal: I need your help. If you’ve ever wanted to see me don a swim cap and brave the unknown depths of Amsterdam’s canals (and I know you have), now’s your chance! Every donation, big or small, will make a significant impact. Plus, you'll get the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve contributed to a world where ALS is a thing of the past – and that you’ve played a part in making me face my (newly discovered) fear of canal critters.

Join me on this crazy, soggy adventure. Sponsor my swim, spread the word, and let's make a splash for ALS research together. Because nothing says “I care” like watching a friend swim through possibly haunted waters for a good cause.

Thanks for your support and sense of humor!
